Speedy is an amazing little creature with no end to his curiosity. In the garden he is always on the move, investigating, sniffing or digging. He’ll chew anything. So far he has left the garlic chives alone…

Rosa Matto is hosting Angélique Kidjo who is making a traditional chicken dish from Benin, her country of birth in West Africa, using her mum’s special blend of spices. Robyn Archer is an artist, arts advocate, singer, writer, theatre director, producer, composer, festival director. She’s been called a national treasure, a cabaret icon. And she is just opened her exhibition 'Picaresque' with a show tonight in the Banquet Room of the Adelaide Festival Centre. The exhibition itself is a collection of cardboard 'marquettes' (scale models) of iconic buildings, vehicles and monuments from around the world. Until now, they have been flat-packed and unseen. Robyn has developed her own unique vocal style and she never fails to wow. Tonight is no exception. She took us on a world tour in song. What a joy. Robyn was accompanied on stage by the great George Butrumlis on accordion. The travel memorabilia leading into the room is incredible too. #adlFest @adelaidefestival

An incredible amount of sensitivity and courage is required when writing a novel to ensure you don’t appropriate another’s culture. But as Rebecca Makkai says she would hate to have to write a book only about people like herself. Both Rebecca and Molly Murn are at the final session of #AdlWW. Molly writes about the precarious territory navigating first contact on Kangaroo Island and Rebecca writes about the first wave of the AIDS syndrome in America. The weather has cooled and the afternoon light is soft. Alice Pung is chairing a great panel of writers discussing journeys and place. All migrants or children of migrants discussing how they have dealt with the state of exile, fleeing war or unfriendly political situations, appreciation for their new home.
