This band had us all up dancing like a lot of drunken gypsy thieves. The setting was idyllic, the red sun was sinking behind the stage which itself was framed by the huge Moreton Bay fig trees in Botanic Park. This is my favourite stage area at Womadelaide. Far enough from the crowds to feel intimate and with that earthy smell of moist earth full of fallen figs crushed underfoot. A cold Cooper’s Pale Ale in hand and a swag of other music lovers just digging the sounds of this amazing planet of ours.
