Geez 2011 – you have some catching up to do

Other than a photo on my bike ride home, I haven't posted a blog since the first of the year. Oh dear, what's going on? Last year I was quite prolific, at least for me... It's not that nothing is happening this year; maybe I am just adjusting to being back in Australia and back…

View from South Road tram bridge

I volunteer after hours with the Adelaide Fringe helping build floats and props for the opening night parade. Riding my bike home over the tram bridge last evening I was treated to this great view.

My 2010 reading list

The pleasures of home

Today is my last day off before going back to work. I have been off since the 3rd of September, with most of my time off spent in Italy. Travelling is great, there is no doubt about that in my mind. Here's a favourite quote of mine: Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness,…

Andrew and his amazing camera

The quality of my photos increased greatly once Andrew joined me in Italy. I will use his photos on this blog from time to time but mainly it's just a place for me to make observations.

Lunch in Chinatown

Saturday lunch at Chinatown Cafe, Moonta Street Adelaide. Hainanese chicken rice. This meal is always a winner. The ginger pieces in the rice make it slightly aromatic, the broth is just right, the chicken and Asian greens (bok choy usually) steamed to perfection.
